The game features more than 400 new levels, and players are able. It is a sequel to Boom Blox, and was released in in North America and it will be released in Europe on May 29, 2009.

Adventure mode is comprised of 4 storylines, each with 3 acts, each of which uses a different gameplay type.Ī sequel to Boom Blox, called Boom Blox Bash Party, was released the following year, 2009. Boom Blox Bash Party is a physics-based puzzle video game developed by EA Los Angeles and published by Electronic Arts for the Wii video game console. Explore levels are tutorials that, in sets, introduce the player to different elements of the game. The main modes of the game are Explore and Adventure. Some levels are large stacks of blocks which must be removed piece by piece in a Jenga-like fashion others require throwing a bouncy ball at the right angle to hit point Blox others still involve shooting at bandits or zombies. I used to own both games, but now only own Boom Blox Bash Party. The second game has more content and play modes available (plus free downloadable content if you want to see what other people have created) but also tends to be a little bit more gimmicky. Still one of the best multiplayer games on the Wii.Throughout Boom Blox a variety of different gameplay types are presented that revolve around three main principles: Throw, Grab and Shoot. The first game has fewer modes but probably feels a little bit tighter. One of my favorite, and probably most criminally overlooked titles of last year, was a unique puzzle game from the minds of Steven Spielberg and developers at EA. The concept is simple: take a perfectly stacked set of blocks, and knock them over by throwing various items at them such as bowling balls. The combination of simplicity and nearly perfect physics made for one of the most addictive experiences of last year. Bash Party is the perfect example of a sequel done right, but it also gives gamers a second chance to check out this highly addictive puzzler instead of sitting on the sidelines.įast forward to the present and wonder how the team can improve on the formula, while still giving fans of the original enough new content to warrant a second purchase. With tons of brand new features and a robust community aspect featuring a level editor complete with upload capabilities, Boom Blox is one title all Wii owners should definitely not pass up. Like I mentioned before the concept is simple. When the first game released I admit my interest was piqued, but not enough to drop $50 on the title.

As I sat and pondered about purchasing it on many occasions I continued to hear how great it actually was. Once I finally took the plunge there was no looking back. So if you are like me and loved the first one, rest assured that this sequel will no doubt be worthy of picking up regardless of how much you wore out the original. Most of this comes from the fact that Bash Party offers a wide array of new ways to enjoy the same simple mechanics.
